Christmas

Dearest Dad

You are missed so very much, even more so at this special time of year as we celebrate the birth of Christ.  It is also a time when families get together swap gifts and tell silly Christmas Cracker jokes.

We did have our family Christmas meal as we always do - and We did laugh and tell silly cracker jokes, but behind the smiles there was only one person that we were thinking of and that was you dad. We all wished you had been there with us celebrating even though you always said what a waste of money it all was but we knew in our hearts you were proud of all your family and enjoyed seeing us all together and you were always especially proud of mum.

We had so many wonderful Christmas's growing up. I remember the gold bell that we all loved pulling and the Angel on top of the Christmas tree, which I think Linda and Jane still has.  We always had an orange and a few nuts in our stockings, plus so many other things. I remember us all trying to peep on top of your wardrobe to see what we would get.  I don't know when I stopped believing in Father Christmas.  I wish that I could turn back time, as there is only one thing that I would wish for this year and which would be that you were still with us.  I love you dad.

Merry Christmas
